Alessia  started skiing at Beckton Dry Ski Slope in East London at the age of 4 1/2  after watching both her brothers, Chris and Gareth on the slope. Due to her love of going very fast, she was soon asked to join in with race training. It soon followed that she began racing ,coming fourth in her first race at Hillingdon Dry Ski Slope in the last race of their season.

When Alessia was 6 years old she competed in her first full year of racing winning 6 out of 6 races to become London & South East group 1 Champion and also winning UK Skiers Best Newcomer Trophy.

Between 2000 & 2002 she went on to win both London & South East Region and also the Eastern Region each year.
